How would you describe your photography style?
My style is natural, personality-driven, and timeless. I focus on capturing the real character of your dog, whether that's quiet and soulful or wild and energetic, in a way that feels genuine rather than staged. The dog is always the star of the frame, though I'm not opposed to a dramatic backdrop when the location calls for it. Every session is relaxed and unhurried so your dog can just be themselves.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are held outdoors at locations that suit your dog's personality, including open fields, wooded trails, parks like 1,000 Acres, urban backdrops, or a spot that's meaningful to you. I'm based in North Portland and happy to travel within 100 miles, including the Cannon Beach and Hood River areas.
How long does a session typically last?
Most sessions run 60 to 90 minutes. Dogs need time to warm up, sniff around, and settle in, and the best shots almost always happen once they've relaxed and forgotten the camera is there.
What types of packages do you offer?
I offer sessions to fit a range of needs, from single-dog portraits to multi-pet and family sessions. All packages include a fully edited digital gallery with optional print add-ons. You can view full pricing on the Pricing page.
How do I prepare my dog for their session?
Bring their favorite treats and at least one squeaky toy. A short walk beforehand helps burn off extra energy. Freshly groomed dogs photograph beautifully, but it's not a requirement. I'm just as happy getting muddy if that's more your dog's style. Most importantly, don't stress about perfect behavior. I work at your dog's pace, and the candid, imperfect moments often make the best portraits.
How long until I receive my photos?
Your edited gallery will be delivered within 2 weeks of your session unless otherwise noted. You'll receive a private online gallery link where you can view, download, and order prints directly.
Do you photograph dog sports?
Yes! I specialize in fast-paced dog sports and attend most flyball tournaments in NAFA Region 7, and occasionally photograph the Vancouver Toss & Fetch team. I'm also available for disc dog, agility, dock diving, lure coursing, herding trials, and more. If you're looking for a photographer for your dog sporting event in the Portland area, feel free to get in touch. I'm happy to travel to events within an hour or two of Portland at no additional charge.
I'll be at an event you're photographing. How can I make sure you get photos of my dog?
Reach out before the event and I'll make sure your dog is on my radar. There's no cost to request priority coverage, and purchasing photos is always completely optional. Galleries are posted to my website and socials after the event, so keep an eye out!
Do you offer digital downloads or prints?
Both! Clients who book a portrait session will receive a private gallery link to download all fully edited images in high resolution. For sporting events, simply select the images you love and choose from digital downloads, prints, wall art, or any combination of the three.
The Process
Step 01 - Reach Out & Book
Fill out the contact form with a little info about your dog and what you're looking for. We'll connect to chat through session details, location ideas, and find a date that works for you. A deposit secures your spot.
Step 02 - Prepare for Your Session
Once you're booked, I'll send over everything you need to know to set your session up for success, including location details, what to bring, and tips for getting your dog ready. Spoiler: treats and a squeaky toy go a long way.
Step 03 - We Shoot
Show up, let your dog explore, and leave the rest to me. I work at your dog's pace in a relaxed, unhurried environment so their real personality can shine through. The best moments happen naturally.
Step 04 - Receive Your Gallery
Within 2 weeks, you'll receive a link to your private online gallery of fully edited images. From there you can download your favorites, share them, and order prints or wall art directly.
